Six healthy habits that help fight prostate cancer


A new research study found six healthy habits, such as eating more tomatoes and less processed red meat or smoking and exercising, that help men significantly prevent a big proportion of lethal prostate cancer.

Researchers analyzed information gathered from almost 46,000 men for 25 years and found that those who adopted five or six of the habits had a 39 percent lower risk of developing lethal prostate cancer than those who adopted one or none of the habits, according to the results presented at the European Cancer Congress in Amsterdam, earlier in September. Each of the six habits have been separately linked with lowering prostate cancer risk, but their joint effect has not been studied before. The first three are linked to physical activity and an overall healthy lifestyle and include:
